Financial Liberalization Index

Abiad and Mody (2005) construct an annual index of financial liberalization for 35 countries during 1973 to 1996.

The data is available in the replication files for Abiad and Mody (2005), available either at the AER website (click "additional materials" for the paper) or at Mody's website.

Used by Caselli and Gennaioli (2008) to descriptively show that financial liberalization precedes entry deregulation.
