SCAD

The Social Conflict in Africa Database (SCAD), compiled by the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin, includes information on over 6,000 protests, riots, strikes, coups, communal violence, and other types of social unrest in African and Central American countries with population more than 1 million since 1990. The SCAD excludes civil war events, which are covered by ACLED. (HT: Mounir Karadja)
