Malaysian Family Life Survey

Malaysian Family Life Survey (MFLS)

The first round conducted during 1976-77, the second during 1988-89. According to the BREAD website, "[r]espondents in the first wave were followed in the subsequent waves; in the second wave, a refreshment sample was added."

The first wave data is used by Da Vanzo et al. (1983) to investigate biological and behavioural influences on infant mortality. Used also by Esrey and Habicht (1988)

See Section 1.2 of Strauss and Duncan (1995) for a brief background of the survey, explaining how the household production model influenced the survey design.
